We decided to leave Corte towards Porto-Vecchio in the south, but after waiting for a ride at the town limits for more than two hours (everyone seemed to go only to the neighbouring villages and farms), we decided to go to Bastia instead. A decision we would not regret. Bastia was a surprisingly lively town with outdoor cafes and restaurants and an excellent Mediterranean atmosphere. The stayed one night at a lovely little hotel that was extremely hard to quit in the morning. Next up was the upmarket resort of Porto-Vecchio, a nice but slightly too touristy place along the east coast. Somehow I didn’t find inspiration to take pictures there. We did rent a car though, visiting Palombaggia, one of the most beatiful beaches around and also making a day-trip to Bonifacio on the southern tip of the island.
